Notes : Genus of about 10 species. Fast-growing perennial. Mass plant under trees to form a ground cover, on steep banks to hold the soil, in large containers or along the front of a border. Plant in good, rich soil, adding plenty of compost and superphosphate. Water well, especially in Spring and Summer. It is easily propagated from seed, or by dividing larger clumps in February or March. Pests and diseases: Slugs and snails may be a problem.
