Notes: Genus of about 100 species. Fast growing, drought and wind resistant. It's an ideal screening or hedging plant. Grown as a specimen plant it has an attractive shape. Blooms profusely with sweetly-scented flowers. Attracts moths and bees. Not fussy about soil - for better results add plenty of compost. Prune lightly to keep tidy right after flowering in later Summer or Autumn. In all species flowering branches must be taken back to old wood. Propagates easily from seed or cuttings.
