Fast growing. Can grow one metre or more in a year if given good soil and sufficient water. Drought resistant. Ideal in cold areas since it tolerates the heaviest frost. Makes a wonderful avenue tree. The leaves are a soft green when young turning to a more glossy green as they mature. The vibrant Autumn colours change from yellow to red. The delicately scented, puff-ball flowers are short lived and attract birds and insects. The 4-winged pink fruits appear in late Autumn and persist for many months. Propagate easily from seed and young plants are fast-growing.
