Provided that the soil has been properly prepared, and the plants kept well watered and mulched, most conifers will only need feeding twice a year – spring and autumn – with organic phosphate.

 

If the soil is very poor, they will respond well to applications of a liquid organic fertiliser, such as milled kelp fertiliser or fish emulsion.
