Notes: Indigenous to the eastern parts of the southern Cape coast, the eastern Cape, the Kwa Zulu Natal coast, the Northern Province and north-eastern parts of Mpumalanga. A small to medium sized tree with dense foliage of narrow, oblong, long-stalked, dark green leaves. Small fig-like fruit are produced in summer. A useful shade tree for a small garden.

The Natal Fig grows in areas with moderate frost and high rainfall provided it can be protected when young. Not suited to areas with severe frost or to very dry regions.
