Notes : Genus of 200 or more species. A quick-growing climber flowering from November to December. Growth in cultivation is rapid, at least one metre per year. The foliage is small and glossy green with masses of fragrant, white star-shaped flowers. Will flower well in the shade. Train over a pergola or trellis, plant under a tree as a groundcover or use in a border as a specimen plant where it will form a shrub-like habit. Prune back after flowering to keep tidy. It can tolerate considerable Winter drought and moderate frost. Propagate from cuttings.
