Notes : Genus of about 50 species. Clump-forming, spreading, rhizomatous perennial grass with strap-shaped, curving leaves. Short, bell-shaped, pale purplish white flowers are borne in Summer followed by spherical, fleshy, dark blue to black fruit.
Plant in composted, moist soil. Useful plant for sloping areas or damp shady places where it is difficult to establish lawn. In moist, cool areas, this plant can be grown in full sun, but in hotter and drier situations it will do better in semi-shade.
