Notes : A strong-growing woody evergreen with shiny, dark green leaves and masses of fragrant, star-like white flowers in summer. Versatile - it is an ideal choice for sprawling in a bed, for covering a pillar, for tumbling out of containers or even grown as a groundcover. Plant in sun or shade in soil that has been enriched with compost. As a groundcover, it can be pinched or clipped back at any time. As a climber it needs regular trimming to prevent legginess. Propagate from semi-hardwood cuttings in autumn. There is also a very attractive variegated form with green and white, pink-tinged leaves. Star jasmine can be grown in most areas, but it does not like very severe frost or very dry conditions. Water it well in summer, especially in dry weather.
