Notes: Evergreen, vigorous shrub with dense, glossy, dark green leaves. Large, flattish heads of pink-budded white flowers are borne from late winter to early spring, followed by blue to black berries in autumn. It's a tough, frost-hardy shrub which is tolerant of quite dry conditions. Plant it in a mixed border. It will also make a good informal hedge or screen and will grow in situations where options are limited, such as along a cold south-facing wall. It is not well suited to very hot, humid conditions. Plant it in a sunny position - it will also grow in partial shade in fertile soil. Water it well until it is established. Prune it back to control its size after flowering. Propagate from tip cuttings of mature new growth in summer.
